Hello!
My name is Robert Akopian. I am a 40 years old National Master (NM) from the United States. I live in the City of Arcadia, Los Angeles County. I became National Master in 2007.
My highest rating was 2265 USCF and 2170 Fide.. I am the sole winner of the 26th Metropolitan GM qualifier.. 2013 Reno Nevada co-winner under 2300 section. National Master Title earned in 2007.
I have 20 years of chess coaching experience, from private/group lessons to various chess clubs that I worked . Among them are Beverly Hills Chess Club & ACA Chess Academy and Beyond Chess clubs. I also teach in public after school chess classes. I am an active chess coach meaning that I still compete in professional tournaments which is very important when it comes to coaching advanced level students.. I have participated in many tournaments through United States as well as my home country Armenia.. Besides running a club in Pasadena I am in the process of organizing very strong tournament for 2000 Fide rating and higher.. I love chess and therefore I enjoy every aspect of it, be it studying for many hours or competing and coaching..
